Join us for a brief but impactful introduction to the pottery wheel, and discover the joy of moulding clay into your own unique masterpiece. 

All material provided. Your pieces will be glazed and fired ready for you to collect at Nuttery.

Embark on a transformative journey with our comprehensive 5-Lesson Pottery Wheel Program at The Nuttery.

 Designed for both beginners and those looking to refine their skills, this program is a deep dive into the art of pottery.

1. Foundation and Orientation: Start your pottery adventure with a thorough introduction to the wheel, clay, and basic techniques. Our experienced instructor will guide you in understanding the fundamentals, ensuring a solid foundation for your creative exploration.

2. Shaping and Centring Techniques: Delve deeper into the intricacies of shaping and centring clay. Learn advanced techniques to master balance and symmetry, allowing you to create more complex and refined forms on the pottery wheel. 

3. Refining & Turning:  Shape and refining your leather hard thrown piece. Once this is complete your piece will dry out to a bone dry stage and will undergo it's first kiln bisque fire, ready for your next lesson to do the decoration and glazing.

4. Surface Decoration and Glazing: Elevate your pottery pieces with lessons on surface decoration and glazing. Discover various techniques to add textures, patterns, and colours to your creations. Understand the art of glazing to enhance the aesthetic appeal of your finished pieces.

5. Personal Project and Fine Tuning: In the final lesson, apply everything you've learned to embark on personal projects. Receive individualized guidance as you work on pieces of your choosing. This session is dedicated to fine-tuning your skills and exploring your unique artistic style.

As advertised under the Events section. This can also be booked as a private event,. The requirements is a minimum of 6 participants and maximum of 12. Lights snacks, teas and coffee provided, You can also bring you own wine, glasses are available to use from the café.
